Basic materials stocks finished up 0.7% on Wall Street today.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.3%, the Nasdaq rose 0.3% and the S&P 500 pushed 0.3% higher.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd (HMY[2]): HMY stock is up 3.6% today.

• Georgia Gulf Corp (AXLL[3]): AXLL stock is up 2.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Watts Water Technologies (WTS[4]): WTS stock is up 2.5% today on 2 times normal volume.

• Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (SMG[5]): SMG stock is up 2.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH[6]): MEOH stock is up 2.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Fibria Celulose S.A. (FBR[7]): FBR stock is up 2.3% today.

• Polyone Corp (POL[8]): POL stock is up 2.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• RBC Bearings Inc (ROLL[9]): ROLL stock is up 2.2% today.

• Molycorp Inc (MCP[10]): MCP stock is up 2.1% today.
