John Pinette, a comedian and actor, died at the age of 50 on Saturday.
John Pinette was found dead in a hotel room in the Sheraton hotel in Pittsburgh. His personal doctor agreed that the comedian’s death was from natural causes and an autopsy will not be performed. The actor had suffered from liver and heart disease and was taking a break from stand-up comedy after undergoing several surgeries to lose weight, The New York Daily News notes.
John Pinette appeared in the series finale of Seinfeld as a man that gets mugged and has his car stolen. The event leads to the cast of the show being sent to jail for not adhering to the city’s Good Samaritan Law, The New York Daily News reports.
John Pinette was mourned by several comedians that knew him and had toured with him. Dane Cook described Pinette as “one of the most generous people I’ve ever worked with,” and Bill Burr said that he was “Truly inspirational,” CNN notes.
