The menu could go back to basics.

McDonald’s executives have admitted that the company has overloaded its menu in recent years. Menu options increased by 75% between 2004 and 2014.

Unfortunately, the new menu offerings overwhelmed the workers making them, and customer service has declined as a result. Many of the items, such as Mighty Wings, were expensive flops for the company.

Expect McDonald’s to clean up its menu in the coming years.

McDonald’s will move toward becoming your coffee shop.

This month, McDonald’s has been giving away free coffee from its McCafe.

Analysts say this is part of a larger strategy from the company, and that McDonald’s is trying to move toward being more like Starbucks (SBUX). Expect more coffee offerings in the coming years.

McDonald’s will start serving more fruits, vegetables, and salads.

McDonald’s will expand its produce offerings in the coming years. The chain has been trying to shed its unhealthy image.

The changes will take effect by 2020.
