NBC announced Pharrell Williams as a judge to the reality TV show via Twitter (TWTR). Williams confirmed the announcement by retweeting NBC’s Tweet and adding: “This is going to be so fun,” reports CNN.
Pharrell Williams had previously appeared on The Voice when Usher brought him in to be a guest mentor. Williams guest appearance went so well that many clamored that he should be added as an official judge. NBC’s Paul Telegdy compared adding Williams to the show to “welcoming an existing family member home,” CNN notes.
Pharrell Williams will be taking over for Cee Lo Green, who announced in February that he was permanently retiring from the role of a judge on The Voice.
