RadiumOne CEO Gurbaksh Chahal was recorded beating his girlfriend 117 times, but won’t go to jail.
Chahal was caught and admitted to spending 30 minutes beating his girlfriend. The incident occurred after the RadiumOne CEO learned that his girlfriend had cheated on him during a trip to Las Vegas. Chahal was sentenced to three years’ probation, 52 weeks in a domestic violence training program and 25 hours of community service, reports the Huffington Post.
One of the charges against the RadiumOne CEO was assault with a deadly weapon. The weapon was a pillow.
Prosecutors were unable to use the footage of the RadiumOne CEO beating his girlfriend as evidence. This decision was made because police illegally seized the footage from his home. However, prosecutors argued that if police had waited for a warrant, the footage would have likely been destroyed, Huffington Post notes.
