A 46-year-old skydiver dies attempting a world record jump with a group of over 200 skydivers.
Berlin native Diana Paris fell to her death after her parachute had a malfunction during the world record attempt. Paris was part of the World Team group which is comprised of 222 experienced skydivers from 28 countries that were looking to break a world record this week.
The jump took place about 60 miles southeast of Phoenix and it was the seventh day of attempts for the group. Paris was a very experienced skydiver who had completed about 1,500 jumps during her career.
The current record for a group jump formation was performed by 110 skydivers.
