Burger King (BKW) is hoping that easier Wi-Fi access will entice customers to visit — and eat — at its restaurants.

The burger chain says it will roll out Whopper Wi-Fi in all Burger King restaurants across the U.S. Whopper Wi-Fi will use wireless Ready Zone access points from AT&T (T) to create Wi-Fi hotspots in Burger King locations, Wireless Week reports.

AT&T Wi-Fi Ready Zone technology can extend hotspot service across 2,000 square feet. Burger King says that its Whopper Wi-Fi will be the first nationwide deployment of Ready Zone technology.

AT&T equipment currently enables Wi-Fi hotspots at a number of other food vendors, including Burger King arch-rival McDonald’s (MCD).

Last month, Burger King said it planned to launch a new mobile app that will process in-store payments, offer nutritional data, promotions, coupons and may eventually also permit users to place food orders for pick-up at Burger King restaurants.

Burger King stock fell more than 1% in Friday morning trading. BKW stock closed on Thursday at $25.96 per share.
