Biggest Movers in Basic Materials Stocks Now – GSM SWC SQM BAK

Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street so far on Wednesday, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 0.5%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.7% higher, the Nasdaq climbed 0.7% and the S&P 500 was up 0.7%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM[1]): GSM stock is up 4.5% today.

• Stillwater Mining Company (SWC[2]): SWC stock is up 2.9% to a new 52-week high of $17.16.

• Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM[3]): SQM stock is up 2.3% today.

• Copene-Petroquimica Do Nordeste (BAK[4]): BAK stock is up 2.3% today.

• Schweitzer-Mauduit International (SWM[5]): SWM stock is up 1.8% today.

• Innospec Inc (IOSP[6]): IOSP stock is up 1.4% today.

• Chemtura Corp (CHMT[7]): CHMT stock is up 1.5% today.

• Rockwood Holdings (ROC[8]): ROC stock is up 1.6% today.

• Georgia Gulf Corp (AXLL[9]): AXLL stock is up 1.7% today.

• Watts Water Technologies (WTS[10]): WTS stock is up 1.7% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• First Majestic Silver (AG[11]): AG stock is down 2.3% today.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS[12]): PAAS stock is down 1.8% today.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO[13]): EGO stock is down 1.2% today.

• Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd (HMY[14]): HMY stock is down 1.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Iamgold Corp (IAG[15]): IAG stock is down 1.8%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC[16]): KGC stock is down 1.5% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM[17]): AEM stock is down 1.2% today.

• United States Steel Corp (X[18]): X stock is down 1.2%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Gerdau S.A. (GGB[19]): GGB stock is down 1.0%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Yamana Gold (AUY[20]): AUY stock is down 0.9% today.
