Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street today, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 0.9%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4%, the Nasdaq was up 0.7% and the S&P 500 increased 0.4%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Encore Wire Corp (WIRE[1]): WIRE stock is up 3.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Alcoa Inc (AA[2]): AA stock is up 2.2% today.

• Ferro Corp (FOE[3]): FOE stock is up 2.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Kaman Corp (KAMN[4]): KAMN stock is up 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Innospec Inc (IOSP[5]): IOSP stock is up 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Watts Water Technologies (WTS[6]): WTS stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• DOW Chemical Company (DOW[7]): DOW stock is up 1.8% today.

• Curtiss-Wright Corp (CW[8]): CW stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Steel Dynamics (STLD[9]): STLD stock is up 1.6% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI[10]): IPI stock is up 1.5% today.

• Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (AU[14]): AU stock is down 0.9% today.
