More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%, the Nasdaq stayed consistent and the S&P 500 declined 0.1%.

Some of the biggest gainers among financial stocks include:

• Metlife Inc (MET[2]): MET stock is up 3.0% today.

• Icici Bank Limited (IBN[3]): IBN stock is up 1.8% today.

• Banco Santander-Chile Ads (BSAC[4]): BSAC stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Brookfield Asset Management Inc (BAM[5]): BAM stock is up 1.7% to a new 52-week high of $42.95.

• Banco Santander (SAN[6]): SAN stock is up 1.6% to a new 52-week high of $10.11.

• KB Financial Group Inc (KB[7]): KB stock is up 1.6% today.

• Discover Financial Services (DFS[8]): DFS stock is up 1.4% today.

• American International Group (AIG[9]): AIG stock is up 1.4% today.

• Banco Santander Brasil Sa (BSBR[10]): BSBR stock is up 1.3% today on 3 times normal volume.

Some of the biggest losers among financial stocks include:

• Waddell & Reed Financial (WDR[11]): WDR stock is down 3.1% today on 2 times normal volume.

• Fortress Investment Group (FIG[12]): FIG stock is down 2.7%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Bbva Banco Frances S.A. (BFR[13]): BFR stock is down 2.5% today.

• Bofi Holding (BOFI[14]): BOFI stock is down 2.4% today.

• Interactive Brokers Group (IBKR[15]): IBKR stock is down 2.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• E*Trade Financial Corp (ETFC[16]): ETFC stock is down 2.1% today.
