Utilities stocks finished down broadly on Wall Street today, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.4%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.9%, the Nasdaq fell 0.8% and the S&P 500 was down 0.9%.

Some of the biggest gainers among utilities stocks include:

• California Water Service Group Holding (CWT[1]): CWT stock is up 4.0% today on 2 times normal volume.

• Exterran Partners L.P. (EXLP[2]): EXLP stock is up 0.9% today.

• Western Gas Partners LP (WES[3]): WES stock is up 0.7% today.

• Transalta Corp (TAC[4]): TAC stock is up 0.6%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Laclede Group (LG[5]): LG stock is up 0.4% today.

• Ugi Corp (UGI[6]): UGI stock is up 0.3%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Trident Performance Group (TCP[7]): TCP stock is up 0.3%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Southwest Gas Corp (SWX[8]): SWX stock is up 0.2% today.

• The Aes Corp (AES[9]): AES stock is up 0.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• National Fuel Gas Company (NFG[10]): NFG stock is up 0.1% today.
