VIDEO: Facebook Ask Button Draws Early Criticism

Facebook (FB[1]) pushed out a new feature over the weekend allowing friends to ask people they know to reveal more about themselves. But the new Facebook Ask button hasn’t gone over well.

The new feature is a button allowing users to¬† “Ask” their friends about information they have marked as private — the person’s hometown or relationship status, for example. The Facebook Ask button might be a new way for the company to mine data about its users, but it will have to survive a heavy wave of criticism, first.
