A Godzilla sequel is already being developed following the new Godzilla‘s extremely successful opening weekend.
Gareth Edwards directed Godzilla which was released on May 16, 2014 and the movie grossed over $93 million in its opening weekend in the U.S. The movie is also the number one movie in numerous international markets and it has a 73% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes out of 223 professional reviews.
Godzilla‘s impressive cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, CJ Adams, Ken Watanabe and Bryan Cranston. The story was developed by Dave Callaham and the script was written by Max Borenstein.
Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. (TWX) are planning on making the Godzilla sequel that will once again be spearheaded by Edwards. The director said that he already has ideas of what to do with the sequel.
TWX stock is up 1.77% Monday.
