Chipotle announced that it would no longer allow customers to carry guns after an open carry event took place in Dallas, Texas. Many pro-gun activist attended the event while carrying loaded weapons. In response to the event, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America started a petition against guns in the restaurant.

Chipotle responded to the petition by releasing a statement to notify customers that only authorized law enforcement officials are allowed to bring guns into its locations. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America has commended the Mexican restaurant’s decision.

Open Carry Texas was the group at the Chipotle in Texas. C.J. Grisham, the group’s founder, said that the event wasn’t a demonstration and that they just came to the restaurant to eat after an event that had already took place. He said that they always get the manager’s permission before coming to the store and that they don’t go in if people aren’t comfortable with it, reports Forbes[4].
