Biggest Movers in Basic Materials Stocks Now – ABX NEM MTX SSD

Basic materials stocks declined broadly on Wall Street today, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.2%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.1% higher, the Nasdaq remained flat and the S&P 500 was up 0.1%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX[1]): ABX stock is up 3.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM[2]): NEM stock is up 3.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Minerals Technologies Inc (MTX[3]): MTX stock is up 2.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD[4]): SSD stock is up 2.0% today.

• Enpro Industries (NPO[5]): NPO stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM[6]): GSM stock is up 1.7%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM[7]): SQM stock is up 1.7% today.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK[8]): TCK stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Kronos Worldwide Inc (KRO[9]): KRO stock is up 1.5% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM[10]): SIM stock is down 2.1% today.

• Terra Nitrogen Company L.P. (TNH[11]): TNH stock is down 1.2% today.

• National Steel Corp (SID[12]): SID stock is down 1.0% today.

• Airgas Inc (ARG[13]): ARG stock is down 0.9% today.

• Sun Hydraulics Corp (SNHY[14]): SNHY stock is down 0.9% today.

• Air Products and Chemicals (APD[15]): APD stock is down 0.8% today.

• Southern Peru Copper Corp (SCCO[16]): SCCO stock is down 0.7% today.

• E.I. Du Pont De Nemours and Company (DD[17]): DD stock is down 0.7% today.

• Praxair (PX[18]): PX stock is down 0.6% today.
