Basic materials stocks declined on Wall Street on Tuesday morning, down 0.1%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%, the Nasdaq stayed the same and the S&P 500 fell 0.1%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI[1]): SHI stock is up 3.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI[2]): GFI stock is up 1.1% today.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH[3]): MEOH stock is up 1.5% today.

• Ferro Corp (FOE[4]): FOE stock is up 1.3% today.

• Gerdau S.A. (GGB[5]): GGB stock is up 1.2% today.

• Huntsman Corp (HUN[6]): HUN stock is up 1.2% to a new 52-week high of $27.14.

• Meadwestvaco Corp (MWV[7]): MWV stock is up 0.8% to a new 52-week high of $43.30.

• RPM International Inc (RPM[8]): RPM stock is up 0.8%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Sasol Ltd (SSL[9]): SSL stock is up 0.8% today.

• National Steel Corp (SID[10]): SID stock is up 0.8% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Allegheny Technologies Inc (ATI[11]): ATI stock is down 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• New Gold Inc (NGD[12]): NGD stock is down 1.9% today.

• Kronos Worldwide Inc (KRO[13]): KRO stock is down 1.6% today.

• Mosaic Company (MOS[14]): MOS stock is down 1.6% today.

• Bhp Billiton Plc (BBL[15]): BBL stock is down 1.7% today.

• Bhp Billiton Limited (BHP[16]): BHP stock is down 1.6% today.

• Commercial Metals Company (CMC[17]): CMC stock is down 1.5% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI[18]): IPI stock is down 1.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
