Utilities stocks rose 0.6% on Wall Street today.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.3%, the Nasdaq rose 0.3% and the S&P 500 increased 0.3%.
Some of the biggest gainers among utilities stocks include:
- One Gas Inc. (OGS[1]): OGS stock is up 1.8% to a new 52-week high of $37.84.
- Sempra Energy (SRE[2]): SRE stock is up 1.4% today.
- American States Water Company (AWR[3]): AWR stock is up 1.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Atmos Energy Corp (ATO[4]): ATO stock is up 0.9% today.
- Oneok Inc (OKE[5]): OKE stock is up 0.8% today.
- Transcananda Pipelines (TRP[6]): TRP stock is up 0.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- South Jersey Industries (SJI[7]): SJI stock is up 0.8% today.
- Kinder Morgan (KMI[8]): KMI stock is up 0.8% today.
- Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (EPD[9]): EPD stock is up 0.8% today.
- Portland General Electric Company (POR[10]): POR stock is up 0.7% today.
Some of the biggest losers among utilities stocks include:
- Allete Inc (ALE[11]): ALE stock is down 0.7%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Ormat Technologies (ORA[12]): ORA stock is down 0.4%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Otter Tail Corp (OTTR[13]): OTTR stock is down 0.3%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Crestwood Midstream Partners LP (CMLP[14]): CMLP stock is down 0.3%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Huaneng Power Intl (HNP[15]): HNP stock is down 0.2% today.
- Southwest Gas Corp (SWX[16]): SWX stock is down 0.2% today.
- Newjersey Resources Corp (NJR[17]): NJR stock is down 0.1% today.
