Domino’s Pizza Hacked, Customer Data Held for Ransom

Domino’s Pizza (DPZ[1]) has been hacked[2] by a group calling themselves Rex Mundi, which means King of the World.

[3]The group claims that it has stolen information, including names, email addresses, addresses and passwords. It’s holding the information ransom and is demanding roughly $40,000 from Domino’s. If the group’s demands aren’t met, it claims that it will post the information online, reports Tom’s Guide.

The hackers claim that the stolen information belongs to 592,000 French customers and 58,000 Belgian customers. Domino’s has confirmed that something is wrong with its servers, but it claims there are no signs of stolen information. It also said that it refuses to give in to the hackers demands, Tom’s Guide notes.

Rex Mundi has hacked other companies in the past. One such hack occurred in 2012 and had the group posting the information of AmeriCash Advance customers after it refused to pay them anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000 to keep the information secret, CBS News[4] notes.
