Hottest Basic Materials Stocks Now – DDC AUY NGD IAG

Basic materials stocks remained flat on Thursday morning on Wall Street.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.2%, the Nasdaq declined 0.3% and the S&P 500 fell 0.2%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Dominion Diamond Corp (DDC[1]): DDC stock is up 3.7% today.

• Yamana Gold (AUY[2]): AUY stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• New Gold Inc (NGD[3]): NGD stock is up 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Iamgold Corp (IAG[4]): IAG stock is up 2.6%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• W.R. Grace & Company (GRA[5]): GRA stock is up 2.0% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM[6]): AEM stock is up 2.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• First Majestic Silver (AG[7]): AG stock is up 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO[8]): EGO stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB[9]): LYB stock is up 1.1% to $100.30, near the 52-week high of $101.00.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC[10]): KGC stock is up 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Stillwater Mining Company (SWC[11]): SWC stock is down 4.7% today.

• Rio Tinto Plc (RIO[12]): RIO stock is down 2.5% today.

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF[13]): CLF stock is down 2.4% today and down 20.5% in the last month.

• Vale S.A. (VALE[14]): VALE stock is down 2.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• National Steel Corp (SID[15]): SID stock is down 1.9% today.

• Commercial Metals Company (CMC[16]): CMC stock is down 1.9% today.

• Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (SMG[17]): SMG stock is down 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Rexnord Corp (RXN[18]): RXN stock is down 2.1% today.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK[19]): TCK stock is down 1.7% today.

• Steel Dynamics (STLD[20]): STLD stock is down 2.0% today.
