Hottest Basic Materials Stocks Now – SHI SSD TREX IPI

Basic materials stocks fell broadly on Wall Street on Monday morning, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.3%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stayed level, the Nasdaq was unchanged and the S&P 500 remained flat.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI[1]): SHI stock is up 4.5%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD[2]): SSD stock is up 3.0% today.

• Trex Company (TREX[3]): TREX stock is up 1.5% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI[4]): IPI stock is up 1.3% today.

• Randgold Resources Limited (GOLD[5]): GOLD stock is up 1.3%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM[6]): SQM stock is up 1.2% today.

• Chemtura Corp (CHMT[7]): CHMT stock is up 1.0% today.

• Watts Water Technologies (WTS[8]): WTS stock is up 1.1% today.

• New Gold Inc (NGD[9]): NGD stock is up 1.1% today and up 23.0% in the last month.

• Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN[10]): BVN stock is up 1.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Ferro Corp (FOE[11]): FOE stock is down 2.3% today.

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF[12]): CLF stock is down 2.3% today and down 20.8% in the last month.

• Calgon Carbon Corp (CCC[13]): CCC stock is down 1.4%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX[14]): CENX stock is down 2.0% today.

• Arcelormittal (MT[15]): MT stock is down 1.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Crane Company (CR[16]): CR stock is down 1.2%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Allegheny Technologies Inc (ATI[17]): ATI stock is down 1.2% today.

• Clearwater Paper Corp (CLW[18]): CLW stock is down 1.0% today.

• Ternium S.A. (TX[19]): TX stock is down 0.8% today.

• Alcoa Inc (AA[20]): AA stock is down 1.0% today.
