More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.5%, the Nasdaq rose 0.6% and the S&P 500 increased 0.5%.

• Stone Energy Corp (SGY[5]): SGY stock is up 3.7% today.

• C&J Energy Services Inc (CJES[6]): CJES stock is up 3.7% today.

• Newfield Exploration Company (NFX[7]): NFX stock is up 3.4% today and up 21.7% in the last month.

• Pioneer Energy Services Corp (PES[8]): PES stock is up 3.3% today.

• W&T Offshore (WTI[9]): WTI stock is up 3.0% today.

• Concho Resources Inc (CXO[10]): CXO stock is up 2.9% today.

Some of the biggest losers among energy stocks include:

• Oiltanking Partners L.P. (OILT[11]): OILT stock is down 2.1% today.

• Core Laboratories N.V. (CLB[12]): CLB stock is down 2.0% today on 2 times normal volume.
