Utilities stocks finished up 0.4% on Wall Street on Friday.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2%, the Nasdaq pushed 0.4% higher and the S&P 500 increased 0.2%.
Some of the biggest gainers among utilities stocks include:
- Hawaiian Electric Industries (HE[1]): HE stock is up 1.8% today.
- Covanta Holding Corp (CVA[2]): CVA stock is up 1.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- El Paso Electric Company (EE[3]): EE stock is up 1.4% to a new 52-week high of $39.94.
- PPL Corp (PPL[4]): PPL stock is up 1.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Mge Energy Inc (MGEE[5]): MGEE stock is up 1.2% today.
- Otter Tail Corp (OTTR[6]): OTTR stock is up 1.0% today on 2 times normal volume.
- Allete Inc (ALE[7]): ALE stock is up 1.2%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Transalta Corp (TAC[8]): TAC stock is up 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Ugi Corp (UGI[9]): UGI stock is up 1.1% to a new 52-week high of $50.11.
- Cheniere Energy Partners LP (CQP[10]): CQP stock is up 1.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

- Targa Resources (TRGP[11]): TRGP stock is down 0.9% today.
- Itc Holdings (ITC[12]): ITC stock is down 0.4% today.
- Edison International (EIX[13]): EIX stock is down 0.4% today.
- NiSource Inc (NI[14]): NI stock is down 0.4% today.
- Idacorp Inc (IDA[15]): IDA stock is down 0.3% today.
- Laclede Group (LG[16]): LG stock is down 0.3% today.
- National Fuel Gas Company (NFG[17]): NFG stock is down 0.2% today.
- Agl Resources (GAS[18]): GAS stock is down 0.1% today.
