Jennifer Deveraux’s daughter wet herself on Friday after she was not allowed to leave her plane seat before the plane took off. The JetBlue flight — which left out of John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City — was delayed for 30 minutes and all passengers were asked to stay put as a safety precaution.
The flight crew followed protocol and refused to let Deveraux’s daughter use the restroom, causing the incident. A JetBlue spokesman said that the company reached out directly to the family and apologized for what happened.
Jennifer did not blame JetBlue for offering them bad customer service. Instead, she said that the incident is an example of the flight industry’s lack of regard for “human decency.”
The company offered the family $50 credit toward a future flight and a $5,000 donation toward the family’s favorite charity.
JBLU stock is up about 1.5% Monday afternoon.
