The social network announced that it achieved 15 million chats sent in a day via MeetMe. The company added that it was struggling to hit the 10-million chat mark as recently as April.
“This acceleration in chat activity is a testament to the strength of our recent launches, including Friend Suggestions and Icebreakers,” said MeetMe CEO Geoff Cook. “We believe it also reflects our audience’s strong desire to connect and communicate with new people.”
MeetMe calls itself the “leading social network for meeting new people in the US and the public market leader for social discovery.” The network allows people to meet each other in creative and interactive ways through games, apps and more.
MEET stock is up about 14% Monday afternoon.
