Skechers (SKX) Sues Adidas for Being a Copy Cat

It may also sue retailers who sell Reebok shoes

Skechers USA (SKX) is taking Adidas (ADDYY) to court over alleged sport shoe patent infringement.

SkechersLogoThe lawsuit — filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California — accuses Adidas’ Rebook International division of violating Skechers design rights and patents in its Reebok Walk Ahead RS line of sports shoes. Skechers indicates that it will sue retailers who stock Reebok Walk Ahead RS shoes. Skechers is asking for an injunction against Reebok, as well as punitive damages, Reuters notes.

According to Skechers, the Reebok shoes infringe on patents relating to Skechers own Go Walk shoe line.
