Target (TGT[1]) has become the next battleground[2] between open-carry advocates and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

target-gun-control-tgt-open-carry[3]Target became a, well, target for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America after several open-carry advocates posted pictures of themselves carry guns in a Texas store. The pictures have resulted in Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America preparing a campaign to get guns out of the store, The Wall Street Journal notes.

Target doesn’t curretly have any of its own restrictions on carrying guns in its stores. Instead, the retailer chooses to follow state and federal laws. The campaign to make Target change its restrictions could gain traction due to the retailers main customers being women, WSJ notes.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) spoke out against the open-carry display at Target after pictures of it made it around the internet. Following this, the opne-carry groups shot back at the NRA for not suppoting them. This was followed by an apology from the NRA, reports Dallas Morning News[4].
