TWTR: Twitter Buy Video Editing Startup SnappyTV

TWTR stock is up Thursday afternoon

Twitter (TWTR) has acquired video-editing and sharing startup SnappyTV.

SnappyTVSnappyTV is a video platform that makes it easy for users to edit and share videos from live broadcast TV. You can then share these videos on social media through Amplify, a program that lets you share these videos in real-time and promote them via Twitter.

“As we continue to invest in video, it’s important for us to provide tools that make it easy for TV broadcasters, businesses, and event producers to share high-quality videos,” Twitter said in a blog post. “To that end, we’ve agreed to acquire SnappyTV.”

SnappyTV echoed these sentiments in a blog post of its own, saying that the partnership with Twitter will help the company expand as an open platform for social broadcasting of live events through several platforms.

TWTR stock is up about 0.75% Thursday afternoon.
