AAPL News: 20,000+ Employees Sue Apple Over Meal Breaks, Unpaid Wages

Apple (AAPL[1]) is being sued by more than 20,000 employees[2] over alleged violations of the California Labor Code.
[3]The lawsuit was filed by four individuals and was only recently approved as a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit claims that Apple broke the California Labor Code concerning meal breaks, rest breaks and the timely granting of final paychecks, reports TechCrunch.
Complaints in the class action lawsuit against Apple include not getting a paycheck until two days after the 72-hour notice period, working a consecutive five hours and more. The case was originally only going to apply to 18,000 Apple employees, but that number increased as time passed and more employees were hired at the company, TechCrunch notes.
The California Labor Code requires employees to be given meal breaks within the first five hours of their shift. It also requires employers to give workers a 10-minute break every four hours and another 10-minute break for shifts that run six to 10 hours, reports The New York Times[4].
