Here are your Apple rumors and AAPL news items for today:

apple-aaplBeta: Apple (AAPL) may be planning to release iOS 8 Beta 4 on Monday, July 21. According to MacRumors, this will have the newest version of the iOS Beta launching just two weeks after the third version. The normal release intervals for the different versions of the iOS 8 Beta have previously been coming three weeks after one another. Rumors of new iOS Beta releases have been fairly accurate so far –give or take a day or two– which makes it likely that the new Beta will be seen sometime next week.

Sensor: A recent photo of what is claimed to be the new Touch ID senor for Apple’s iPhone 6 has surfaced in Japan. The image of what could be the new Touch ID senor shows that several small changes have been made to the device, AppleInsider notes. This includes moving the mounting bracket to the opposite side of the ribbon cable from where it was on the iPhone 5s and a new shielding on the rear of the device. The senor itself has also seemed to change in shape.

Delay: Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for KGI Securities, is predicting that the 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6 will be delayed. The analyst claims that the device will be delayed by a month or so, but that it could still be released sometime this year, reports Computer World. The issue behind the supposed delay is rumored to be with the device’s in-cell touch panels. The rumor claims that issues with these touch panels have occurred in both versions of the upcoming smartphone, but that they are worse in the 5.5-inch version.
