China Food Scandal Spreads to Starbucks, Burger King, Others

Some Starbucks cafes sold meat products from supplier

Add Burger King (BKW) and Starbucks (SBUX) to the China food scandal.

ChinaThe scandal — which came to light earlier this week — linked McDonald’s (MCD), Yum! Brands (YUM) and others to unhygienic meat. Burger King and Starbucks are also being linked to the local meat supplier that sold expired and contaminated meat to restaurants.

Starbucks said that some of its cafes sold products containing chicken that came from the meat supplier. Burger King said it will carry meat from the supplier no longer.

BKW stock is down about 0.5% Wednesday afternoon and SBUX stock is up close to 0.6%. YUM stock is up about 0.1% and MCD stock is down 0.9%.
