Following tough financial times due to the decrease in interest for sweet snacks, the Crumbs Bake Shop is shutting down its business. This will include the closure of all of its stores. According to the Chicago Tribune, the website only lists the closings as temporary.
Attempts to visit the Crumbs Bake Shop website on Tuesday resulted in nothing more than a blank page.
The closing come shortly after the cupcake chain was delisted from from Nasdaq. This was due to Nasdaq refusing to continue the company’s public offering. The chain said at the time that it wasn’t planning on an appeal to the stock market’s decision.
“Regrettably Crumbs has been forced to cease operations and is immediately attending to the dislocation of its employees while it evaluates its limited remaining options,” the company told Los Angeles Times.
CRMB shares were down 72% as of Tuesday evening.
