Teatro Lirico di Cagliari will have select performers, behind the stage workers and musicians wearing pairs of Glass during performances of Puccini’s Turandot. The video captured by Glass will be broadcast worldwide to give everyone a chance to see it, reports The New York Times.
Live streams of the performance will be available on the company’s website and several forms of social media. Mauro Meli, the general manager of the Italian opera company, hopes that Glass will help give viewers an inside performance of the drama that isn’t normally seen, NYT notes.
Showings of Turandot that have oera performers wearing Glass will start on July 30 and last until August 16.
