What to Know About the Massive Graco Car Seat Recall

Graco (NWL) has issued a massive car seat recall that affects close to 2 million infant car seats.

GracoThe company decided to recall the product following immense pressure from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. U.S. safety regulators claimed that the product has a faulty buckle that could make it difficult for a child to break free in an emergency situation.

Graco battled the agency for five months before succumbing to its demands and recalling 1.9 million infant car seats. The company issued another massive car seat recall in February and claimed that its new seats were safe.

NHTSA pressured Graco to recall the product after parents complained that they had to cut the harness of the seats to free their children. The company will replace the safety buckles for free.

No injuries related to the Graco car seat were reported.

NWL stock is down about 1% Wednesday afternoon.
