HD, SSYS: Home Depot to Carry Line of 3D Printers

Home Depot (HD) is adding a new product to its stores — 3D printers.

home depot 185 HD, SSYS: Home Depot to Carry Line of 3D PrintersThe home improvement company is now selling 3D printers created by MakerBot, a 3D printer-manufacturer acquired by Stratasys (SSYS) last year. Home Depot is selling the printers in 12 locations including New York and California as part of a pilot project.

The move comes three months after the store decided to start selling MakerBot printers online. With this partnership, there is reason to believe that 3D printers might break into the mainstream after all.

HD stock is down about 0.35% Monday afternoon. SSYS stock is up close to 0.2%.
