Financial stocks finished flat today on Wall Street.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.1%, the Nasdaq climbed 0.2% and the S&P 500 rose 0.1%.

Some of the biggest gainers among financial stocks include:

• Wellpoint Health Networks Inc (WLP[1]): WLP stock is up 1.8% to $110.32, near the 52-week high of $110.03.

• Hercules Technology Growth Capital (HTGC[2]): HTGC stock is up 1.7% today.

• Credit Acceptance Corp (CACC[3]): CACC stock is up 1.3% today on 3 times normal volume.

• The Carlyle Group L.P. (CG[4]): CG stock is up 1.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Prudential Public Limited Company (PUK[5]): PUK stock is up 1.1%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Calamos Convertible and High (CHY[6]): CHY stock is up 1.1% today.

• Aetna Inc (AET[7]): AET stock is up 1.0% to a new 52-week high of $82.92.

• Texas Pacific Land Trust (TPL[8]): TPL stock is up 1.0% today.

• KKR & Co. L.P. (KKR[9]): KKR stock is up 0.9%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Lpl Investment Holdings Inc (LPLA[10]): LPLA stock is up 0.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among financial stocks include:

• Viewpoint Financial Group (VPFG[11]): VPFG stock is down 2.3% today.

• Horace Mann Educators Corp (HMN[12]): HMN stock is down 1.8% today.

• Marketaxess Holdings (MKTX[13]): MKTX stock is down 1.8%, marking the seventh consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Hancock Holding Company (HBHC[14]): HBHC stock is down 1.8% today.
