Internet users must really love potato salad as a man’s Kickstarter campaign to make the dish has already raised over $52,000.
Zack Danger Brown — a Kickstarter user from Columbus, Ohio — started a campaign to raise $10 on the crowdfunding website with the purpose of making potato salad. The project has received support from close to 4,000 backers who have donated over $52,000 to the cause.
“Basically, I’m just making potato salad. I haven’t decided what kind yet,” read his initial post. Brown has been updating the website as the campaign raises more money, setting new goals every time the project reaches a new benchmark.
“$3000: My kitchen is too small,” read his most recent update. “I will rent out a party hall and invite the whole internet to the potato salad party (only $10 and above will be allowed in the kitchen)! The internet loves potato salad! Let’s show them that potato salad loves the internet!!”
The project will continue to accept donations until August 2.
