Peter Taylor claims in his lawsuit that he was fired from Twitter due to his age. The former employee was 57 at the time of his firing and claims he was replaced with younger workers in their 20s and 30s. He also said that one remark about his age was made when he was let go, The Los Angeles Times notes.

Twitter said that it will fight the lawsuit and that it doesn’t have any merit. Carl Lippenberger, Taylor’s attorney, claims that he tried to reach an agreement with the company before filing the lawsuit, reports L.A. Times.

Twitter isn’t the only tech company that has been accused of age discrimination. Google (GOOG[4]) Facebook (FB[5]), Apple (AAPL[6]) and Yahoo (YHOO[7]) have all been accused of it. Some, like Google, even reached settlements in court over the matter and others were given scrutiny after looking for “new grads” and people from the class of “2007 to 2008”, Slate Magazine[8] notes.
