Yahoo (YHOO) Buys Flurry to Up Its Mobile Ad Game

Yahoo (YHOO) has announced in a blog post that it’s buying mobile ad and analytics company Flurry.

yahoo-yhoo-flurryIn the blog post, Yahoo says that it’s acquiring Flurry to enhance its mobile platform. This will include building and supporting mobile apps, helping those apps reach users and allowing the two companies to explore more revenue opportunities. The company also notes that Flurry will allow it to better target mobile ads.

Flurry also confirmed that it would be acquired by Yahoo in a blog post. The company states that it’s going to continue doing what it has always done, but that it will be able to do it better with the help it will be getting from Yahoo. The blog also thanked the 170,000 app developers, marketers and partners that have worked with the company over the past six years.

While the financial details of the acquisition haven’t been revealed, estimates put it at somewhere between $200 million to $300 million.

YHOO stock was up 1% as of Tuesday afternoon.
