Did Tony Soprano die?
This question has been haunting fans of The Sopranos since the show’s ambiguous finale. Creator David Chase was quoted as saying that Tony Soprano did not die in a Vox story but Chase now claims that his quote was “misconstrued” by the publication.
David Chase’s representative, Leslee Dart, issued a statement on the matter:
A journalist for Vox misconstrued what David Chase said in their interview. To simply quote David as saying, ‘Tony Soprano is not dead,’ is inaccurate. There is a much larger context for that statement and as such, it is not true.
The HBO show ran for six seasons between 1999 and 2007. The Sopranos‘ ending and the fate of Tony Soprano has stirred plenty of controversy and debate on what actually happened in that diner.
