The company could also be working to make sure it meets the standards set by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, reports The Wall Street Journal.

According to WSJ, parents are already trying to set up accounts for their children and the tech comapny is hoping to make the experience easier. The child accounts will reportedly be able to report data back to parents and also allow them to set parental controls for what their kids can see through the account.

When Google was asked about the accounts for kids, a spokesperson said that he refused to comment on “rumors and speculation,” reports Deutsche Welle[4].
