Basic materials stocks finished down broadly on Wall Street on Thursday, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.9%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.5%, the Nasdaq declined 0.3% and the S&P 500 was down 0.5%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 0.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Stillwater Mining Company (SWC): SWC stock is up 0.8% today.

• Terra Nitrogen Company L.P. (TNH): TNH stock is up 0.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is up 0.7% today.

• Kaman Corp (KAMN): KAMN stock is up 0.6% today.

• Circor International (CIR): CIR stock is up 0.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Plum Creek Timber Company (PCL): PCL stock is up 0.4% today.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is up 0.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Graphic Packaging Holding Company (GPK): GPK stock is up 0.3% today.

• Wd-40 Company (WDFC): WDFC stock is up 0.2%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM): SIM stock is down 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Alcoa Inc (AA): AA stock is down 2.7% today.

• Olin Corp (OLN): OLN stock is down 2.1% today.

• Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is down 2.1% today.

• Enpro Industries (NPO): NPO stock is down 2.0% today.

• Mueller Water Products (MWA): MWA stock is down 1.8% today.

• Cameco Corp (CCJ): CCJ stock is down 1.8% today.

• Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc (POT): POT stock is down 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Mosaic Company (MOS): MOS stock is down 1.7% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI): IPI stock is down 1.7% today.
