Microsoft Deletes 1,500 Misleading Apps, Offers Refunds

Microsoft (MSFT) has deleted more than 1,500 apps that contain misleading information.

Microsoft said in a statement that it “will gladly refund the cost of an app that is downloaded as a result of an erroneous title or description.”

The original version of Flappy Bird is no longer available but there are plenty of fake versions of the game out there that may contain malware.

There are also fake antivirus apps at the Windows Phone Store that may also contain malware.

MSFT stock is down about 0.1% Thursday afternoon.
