Netflix Stand-Up Comedy Specials: Bill Cosby, Chelsea Handler & More

Netflix (NFLX) is releasing a handful of Netflix stand-up comedy specials later this year.

NetflixThe likes of Bill Cosby, Chelsea Handler and Bill Burr will be included in the online streaming service’s list of new content this fall. “Jim Jefferies: BARE” will be the first stand-up comedy special released by Netflix, premiering on August 29.

Jefferies will be followed by Chelsea Handler’s “Uganda Be Kidding Me,” slated for an October 10 release. “Chelsea Peretti: One of the Greats” will follow on November 14 and “Bill Cosby 77” will premier on November 28.

“Bill Burr: I’m Sorry You Feel That Way” will be the last Netflix stand-up comedy special to kick off this fall. Burr’s show will premier on December 5.

“Stand-up comedy is a category of original content that we’re very focused on,” said Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s vice president of original documentary and comedy programming. “There’s a really huge scope of types of comedy within stand-up, and we have the ability to provide that entire scope.”

NFLX stock is down about 0.25% Thursday afternoon.
