There are plenty of new fall TV shows to be excited about this year.

The next month and a half will be marked by a flurry of series, all hoping to become the next big name in television. While shows such as Gotham have already started turning heads, other shows have their work cut out for them.

Here are five new fall TV shows to watch in 2014:

  • GothamFox (FOX): This show takes a closer look inside the city where Batman fights crime. From Commissioner Gordon’s rise to the top to the corruption that runs rampant in Gotham City, this show is ideal for superhero fans. Gotham premieres September 22.
  • How to Get Away With MurderABC: A relentless attorney and law professor stars in this courtroom thriller with a dark twist. How to Get Away With Murder kicks off September 25.
  • Red Band SocietyFox: This coming-of-age dramedy features teenage patients in a pediatric ward in Los Angeles. Red Band Society premieres September 17.
  • Bad JudgeNBC: One of the most respected judges in LA likes to party pretty hard in her down time in this NBC series. Bad Judge airs October 2 on NBC.
  • Jane the VirginCW: How does a virgin get pregnant? By accidentally impregnating her with sperm meant for someone else. Check out this show on the CW starting October 13.
