Bad Publicity Forces Starbucks to Improve Barista Schedules

Starbucks (SBUX) has responded to bad publicity regarding unpredictable barista schedules by promising change.

Starbucks is upgrading the way it schedules barista shifts in order to avoid any back-to-back closing and opening shifts. The company also said that schedules will be posted one week in advance with no exceptions.

Starbucks employs more than 130,000 baristas in the U.S. and most of them are part-time workers.

SBUX stock is up 0.35% Friday afternoon.
