The company has announced that hackers were able to access a network that includes transactions, account numbers, expiration dates, card holder names and more. Supervalu added that data was stolen from up to 200 of its grocery and liquor stores.
The SuperValu data breach took place between June 22 and July 27. The company said the breach could also affect stores sold off by the company that are still using those systems.
The cards from which data may have been stolen include 180 Supervalu stores and liquor stores as well as 29 Cub Foods stores and liquor stores. Ab Acquisition — an affiliate of Cerebus — is working with the company to get more details on the breach.
Supervalu is still looking into whether any card data was actually stolen.
