It’s not rare for ISPs to experience an Internet outage occasionally but Time Warner Cable’s inconvenience was a rarity. The outage affected Internet users from all around the nation and it lasted about an hour and a half.
The problem first came to light at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday and it was mostly resolved by 6 a.m. The New York State Department of Public Service will investigate the Internet outage.
Time Warner Cable has about 14.5 million subscribers in the U.S. Comcast (CMCSA) is in the process of acquiring the ISP for $45 billion at the moment.
TWX stock is up 0.4% Wednesday afternoon.
