Tuesday Apple Rumors: iPhone 6, 6 Plus Cases Arriving Early

The patent granted to the tech company is titled “Graphical objects that respond to touch or motion input.” The patent details a system where icons and files would react to a users touch as if they were physical objects. This includes taking into account for mass, gravity, friction and more. The system would allow for users to select icons by drawing a circle around them. This would allow the user to move those icons around via touch controls.

Cases: Cases for Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are already being shipped out to some individuals, MacRumors notes. The cases showing up are official ones provided by Apple for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Several images of the new cases can be seen online and some users have started doing size comparisons of them. A leather case for the iPhone 6 will set customers back $45 and the Plus case costs $49. Silicone cases for the new smartphones costs $35 for the iPhone 6 and $39 for the 6 Plus.

Update: Owners of Apple’s various mobile devices are preparing for the iOS 8 update that will be released tomorrow, reports BGR. Devices that will be able to upgrade to iOS 8 include the iPhone 4s and all later models, the iPad 2 and later models and fifth-generation iPods. Users will have the option of either downloading the update directly to their devices, or they can hook them up to iTunes through a computer to receive the update. Those looking to grab the iOS update are advised to keep their devices plugged into a power source for the duration of the process.
