Digitimes Research is reporting that Android tablet vendors are changing their ways, opting to add value to their devices as opposed to cutting prices.

This is a unique strategy that could help vendors better compete with the iPad.

The More Features, The Better

Some consumers purchase tablets based on price alone, and Android tablet vendors will continue to price their devices to sell. However, at the same time, they are implementing a variety of high end features, presumably to fight against the top of the market, which includes the iPad.

According to the report, these new features include (but are not limited to) high-resolution touch panels, shockproof design and upgraded cameras. Additionally, the mainstream screen size for Android tablets has grown from 7 inches to 8 inches, which could go a long way in helping these devices stand out as good options for customers wanting to use their tablets to view video.
