Google earnings GOOG stockEmployees once were forced to get an administrator involved — not impossible, but certainly a pain for all parties involved. However, as of yesterday, that’s no more — Google has made it so employees can now install these apps without needing an administrator.

If your company uses Google Apps for Work, Google Apps for Government or Google Apps for Education, the Apps Marketplace is now more accessible than ever before.

This one change is sure to make it easier for employees to work in a more efficient manner.

It goes without saying that some administrators will be concerned about the apps that employees have access to. Fortunately, GOOG is one step ahead of the curve here, making it easy for admins to use filters to ensure that employees only have access to a particular set of third-party apps.

This decision might fly under the radar at some companies, but with so many apps in the Google Apps Marketplace — ranging from those for customer support to accounting — employees are sure to take advantage of this greater freedom in the near future.
